Parambikulam National Park ( Parambikulam Tiger Reserve) in pollachi



Parambikulam Wildlife Sanctuary is perched in a valley located in between the hills of Anamalai Range in Tamil Nadu and Nelliampathi Range in Kerala. The area of this park is spread in 285 sq km. The terrain of the national park is hilly, rocky and has rivers such as Parambikulam, Sholayar and Thekkady. The area of the national park is covered with forests rich in sandalwood, bamboo, rosewood and teak trees.

The place houses the oldest and largest teak trees of the world, which is also another attraction of this place. The park has two watch towers, which are erected here for watching wildlife. One tower is located at Anappadi, which is around 8 km from Thunakadavu and another is in Sungam, at a distance of 5 km from Thunakadavu.
