Many people have left their hearts in this American gem of a city. The
Golden Gate Bridge is the most famous symbol of ‘The City by the Bay’.
Following close on its heals are the thousands of ‘Painted Ladies’,
ornately detailed and painted houses that dot the city with their
loveliness. Alcatraz Island, while not beautiful like much of the rest
of the city, is a fascinating must-do when visiting, as is the beautiful
student suburb of Berkeley.
