Punta Cana is known for its beautiful beach strip. Many honeymooners choose this place as their love nest due to its pristine white sand beaches and its private location. If you want nothing of the city noise and crowded places, this is definitely the place to go. Punta Cana is populated with enormous all-inclusive beach resorts where tourists are mostly families or couples on their honeymoon. Sports are the main attraction for most resorts. Other resorts concentrate on giving couple and family entertainment packages. During spring break, when college students flock to the place, larger complexes are opened to give way for a more exciting night life, entertainment appropriate for this age group.
If you want to explore the nearby areas, you have to rent a car so you can visit wonderful caves, mangroves, and the exclusive resorts in the neighbouring provinces. Other tourist destinations like Saona and La Romana are only a few hours’ drive. The different resorts in Punta Cana are intent on giving their guests everything they need, from entertainment options to different relaxation facilities, so one doesn’t have to go outside for these necessities. The area around Punta Cana is a long stretch of empty countryside and it is ideal for long walks and solitary thinking.
The nearest city is Higuey and El Cortecito is also nearby. One of its neighbouring tourist attractions is the Manatee Park, a flora and fauna ecological spot. If you want a taste of what life is like in a tropical paradise, you can go to Ponce de Leon house, which is located close to Boca de Yuma, for a feast of fresh fish lunches with the fresh salty air as your company. There are also unlimited handicraft items you can bring home with you as souvenirs since vendors are there day and night selling their crafts.
